Archos Announces $199 Internet Tablet

Amazon is not the only company that can offer a decent looking tablet for $199. With CES 2012 only a short while from now, some of the companies involved are slowly but surely announcing their new products. Archos 70b Internet tablet is a budget friendly slate with 1.2 GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, and 8 GB of storage. It also has a 7 inch screen with 1024 x 600 resolution.

The tablet will run Android 3.2 Honeycomb. It does offer a better display in comparison to the Kindle Fire. Let’s face it. This Archos tablet won’t be a Kindle killer anytime soon. It may offer some better features on paper but the Kindle brand is much more trusted. Besides, previous Archos tablets have not exactly gotten glowing reviews from their owners. Nice try by Archos though.
