Remember the FireDock device that we covered here a while ago. It was meant to be a Kindle Fire docking station by Grace Digital Audio. As the Digital Reader has reported, Amazon seems to hold the trademark for the term “Firedock” at this point. No wonder, the FireDock was renamed a while ago. Amazon’s new Kindle Fire device has already hit the FCC. But it seems the company has an e-reader in the works too (which is completely expected).
The FCC documents seem to indicate that Amazon will be releasing a new Kindle Fire, Kindle e-reader, and a Kindle docking station. There is no word on what these device will each offer or how much they will cost. But we should see them debut some time in the next couple of months. Can Amazon make the Kindle Fire a worthy Nexus 7 challenger? That remains to be seen.
