Amazon Kindle has been around for a couple of years now. If you have a Kindle or two sitting at home already and intend to buy a new Kindle, partying ways with it is not a bad idea. Thanks to Amazon’s Kindle trade-in program, you can get some money back in exchange for your e-reader.
The money you would get back for your e-reader on Amazon is not that great. I personally paid $399 for my first generation Kindle. Amazon will only offer $29 for that device. Even Kindle DX Graphite gets you about $136 back. Interestingly enough, Amazon is offering $330 for used iPad 2 units. Is Amazon tempting people to return their iPads and get on-board with Kindle? It surely seems like it.
What’s your take? Are these deals fair at all?
