The Surface with RT and Surface Pro were expected to generate a lot of excitement for Windows 8 tablets. That simply has not happened. Microsoft fumbled Windows RT/8’s launch badly. The Surface tablets are not super cheap, which seems to have turned off many consumers. How is Microsoft going to fix this mess? By offering 2nd-generation Surface tablets for as low as $249.
As Digitimes has reported, the new Surface RT tablet will be using a Nvidia Tegra processor. The device is being manufactured by Pegatron Technology and will have a 8 inch display. It could start shipping as early as June 2013. Will it hold its own against the Nexus 7.2 and iPad Mini 2? That remains to be seen.
