More people are getting used to the idea of using their tablets and smartphones to keep up with their favorite websites. Not all websites come with responsive designs that work well on smaller screens though. Google Currents is a superb personalized magazine app that turns the ugliest sites into elegant tablet/mobile friendly magazines. It works on the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices which is a huge plus.

Google Currents lets its users subscribe to the type of content they want to read on their handheld devices. It supports blog, photo, and video feeds. It also comes with a self-publishing platform for webmasters who want to have more control on the design, branding, and other settings of their magazine. Google Currents is integrated with Google+ so users can share their favorite stories with their circles.

With apps such as Google Currents, webmasters won’t have to spend a fortune to make their websites tablet friendly. That is if they can encourage their visitors to visit their site using this service.
