Kobo Glo vs the Kobo Touch: Can Kobo Stay Competitive?

Amazon is not the only company updating its e-readers. It is true that the Kindle Paperwhite is going to be very popular. Kobo e-readers have a lot going for them as well. Kobo Glo is another e-reader that offers a built-in light. It has its similarities to the Kobo Touch. At the same time, it does offer slightly better hardware.

The Kobo Glo has a 6 inch e-ink screen with 1024×768 resolution. It has a 1 GHz processor inside, which is an upgrade over the Kobo Touch’s Freescale 508 processor. The Kobo Glo does look quite sleek and is a nice alternative to the Kindle Paperwhite and Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight. The device will cost you $129.99.

Unlike Amazon and B&N, Kobo does offer a smaller e-reader for folks who find 6 inch devices hard to carry around. The Kobo mini has a 5 inch screen and is one of the most compact e-readers around. Kobo devices won’t outperform the new Kindle and NOOK devices. But they have their own merit. It is always nice for consumers to have options when it comes to tablets, e-readers, or other electronics for that matter.

Will you be picking up a Kobo device?
