NOOK Apps for iOS & Android Get Updated, Kindle PaperWhite Gets Reviewed
0Amazon has had a lot of success with its e-readers in the past. The company managed to breathe new life into this market a few years ago. Since then, we have seen the rise of many decent players including B&N and Kobo in this market. The Kindle Paperwhite, which was released recently, is the next step for Amazon. The company has not always had the best e-readers on the paper. At the same time, it has the best ecosystem (content + apps) available for e-readers. The new Kindle has already received glowing reviews from top tech blogs. It will be interesting to see how Amazon improves upon this device next time around.
Speaking of Amazon rivals, B&N has updated its NOOK apps for Android and iOS. The Android version makes reading comic books easier for users. Android users will be able to zoom in on a single frame to get the best experience possible. The Zoom View feature is available on phones with a HVGA+ screen. A full dictionary and improved font and margin sizes are also available. iOS users will not only get a full dictionary but also the ability to view PDF and PagePerfect NOOK Book content. Sideloading support for EPUB and PDF is also available. Both apps are now available for download right now.
