Flexible displays are the future. A number of companies are working on them, so sooner or later we are going to see smartphones and tablets that take advantage of these technologies. E-ink happens to planning to announce its next e-ink platform in a few months. It will offer improved contrast and resolutions. You won’t have to deal with as much ghosting on E-ink devices.

While the next generation E-ink screens are exciting to see, the Mobius flexible display technology is even more fun. We have already covered the technology here. Devices that use these types of technologies are going to make their debut in the next couple of years, if we are lucky. For now, we will have to settle for Kindles with higher resolution displays and slightly better designs.
