Kindle Fire 2 Coming in August, Amazon Building a 4-5 Inch Phone?

The Kindle Fire may have been very cheap tablet. But it did leave a whole lot to be desired performance-wise. So it is not surprising that Amazon will try harder this time around to make the Kindle Fire 2 competitive against the other players involved in this market. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait a whole lot longer to get our hands on the new Kindle Fire. The product will be built by Quanta to make its debut in August.

It does seem that Amazon plans to bring 8.9 and 10 inch Kindle Fires to the market in the future. The timeline for those are not known at this point. Considering that Google is also working on a 10 inch Nexus tablet, Amazon may be forced to bring its larger tablets to the market sooner rather than later.

Amazon is not just building new tablets though. The company very much plans to bring a smartphone to the market as well. Sources have confirmed that Amazon is testing a 4-5 inch device to release later this year or next year. At this point, it is not clear how Amazon will price this smartphone. But it is very likely that it will adopt a similar strategy what it used to sell millions of Kindle Fire units. These are all expected to be mainly content consumption devices though.
