iPad Controls 97% of US Web Traffic?

We have seen many stories about the tablets that could potentially challenge and beat the iPad. XOOM, G-Slate, and Eee Transformer are very decent products but they are nowhere near where they need to be to topple Apple iPad. A recent report by comScore all but proves that it will take a special effort to challenge Apple in the tablet market.

Apple iPad 1 and 2 are responsible for 89% of the global traffic. In the U.S., iPad is so dominant one has to wonder how it can be challenged. Of course, just because people are using their tablets to surf the Internet does not mean they are reading many e-books on them. It will be interesting to see whether Amazon can put up a better challenge against Apple with its own tablets.
