Amazon may have launched Fire TV just a couple of days ago, but most experts already expect it to get serious competition from Google and other players. In fact, the Verge has found out that Google will be introducing Android TV, an entertainment interface about finding content fast. The company is already courting select developers to develop solutions for this new interface.
Google is essentially going after Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV with this new approach. It may already have Chromecast, but with Android TV, it aims to make it even easier for consumers to find content that interests them. Android TV will support voice input and notifications. In fact, Android TV will have a few things in common with the Fire TV. How well this will turn out is anybody’s guess at this point.
