Goal0 12301 Nomad 7M Review: Solar Charger for Kindle

In the past few weeks, we have listed a number of solar accessories for Kindle that folks can take advantage of to power up their devices. For whatever reason, some folks just don’t trust solar chargers. But if you get your hands on decent models, these chargers can be quite effective and convenient. Goal0 12301 Nomad 7M Solar Charger is one of these products. It is designed for those who want to charge their cell phones, GPS products, and other small electronics in the outdoors. This just happens to charge Kindle like a charm.

We got Goal0 12301 Nomad 7M specifically to show that solar chargers can be reliable for devices such as Kindle. You can get your hands on Goal0 12301 Nomad 7M for about $80 (depending on where you get it). This charger is foldable and quite compact. It can charge your USB devices. It does have a car lighter dongle that you can take advantage of to power up your devices in your car.

Once you put your Goal0 12301 Nomad 7M under some sun shine and connect it to your device, your Kindle’s battery will start charging right away. We tested this device with Kindle and Kindle DX. If you get a lot of sun-shine, you can charge devices such as iPod Touch quite quickly. The performance in cloudy days is not as impressive. It will depend on how much cloud we are talking about.

Goal0 12301 Nomad 7M is water resistant and can handle bad weather too. Unfortunately, we could not get this unit to charge our iPad. That was expected but I thought maybe we could pull it off somehow.

Goal0 12301 Nomad 7M is a solid solar panel by a great company. If you want to have a way to charge your Kindle or iPhone on the go when you have no access to a regular outlet, Goal0 12301 Nomad 7M is well worth checking out.
