Amazon To Announce Kindle Fire On Sept 28th

Have you been wanting to buy a new Kindle? You may want to hold off for at least another day as Amazon will surely announce its new tablet, Kindle Fire, tomorrow. Kindle Fire will be a budget tablet with a 7 inch screen. Multiple sources are reporting that Kindle Fire will have many similarities to the PlayBook. Gdgt explains that Kindle Fire looks like a BlackBerry PlayBook due to the fact that it was designed by Quanta. Amazon’s own Lab 126 did not take on the project to focus on the next generation E-ink readers (no, they are not going away). Apparently, Quanta and Amazon decided to use PlayBook as their template to develop Kindle Fire.

There have been conflicting reports on the quality of Kindle Fire. Some argue that Amazon has had to make too many sacrifices. After all, it is trying to get its tablet out of the door before 2011 ends. The Fire will rely heavily on Amazon services (mp3, video, appstore, …) to stay competitive. Amazon Prime was expected to be a part of the deal. But that could be off the table according to the latest rumor.

Let’s hope Amazon has made the right decisions and does not release a low quality tablet to the market just for the sake of doing it. It would be a mistake to release a sub-par tablet when B&N is releasing more powerful NOOKs later on. The tablet market needs companies such as Amazon to grow and reach new heights.
