Amazon is working on some huge products lately. We are not seeing a whole lot yet but it could release a game system, set top box for your TV, and other products. The Wall Street Journal is now reporting that Amazon is planning to offer brick-and-mortar players a checkout system that use Kindle tablets. Amazon has already hired engineers from companies such as GoPago to help with the process.
This project would allow Amazon to enter the world of physical retail stores. That means huge amount of data for Amazon to analyze to offer a better experience to all shoppers. Considering that Amazon does not have a whole lot of experience in this area, this could be a bit challenging. Let’s not forget there are many other players involved. Amazon could always use Amazon.com promotions to bring draw in merchants. It could also create a mobile wallet. In fact, I would be surprised if it didn’t.[Source: Wall Street Journal]
