The Kindle Fire is not that expensive of a tablet. It is going for $199 at this point and is going to be even cheaper when the next Kindle Fire is released to the market. Cracking your Kindle Fire’s screen is not that hard though. If you are not careful, it will happen to you. So you want to be careful how you treat your Kindle Fire. Here are 3 things you can do to avoid damaging your Kindle Fire’s screen and fix it when it is cracked:

Get a Kindle screen protector: getting a premium screen protector for the Kindle Fire is a no brainer. Not only it keeps fingerprints off of the Kindle screen, it can handle scratches too. Most screen protectors don’t handle drops or heavy pressure though.

Invest in a tough case: tough cases are developed for those of you who plan to take you tablet to a tough working environment. Some of these cases handle shocks, bumps, and impact very well. They are not cheap but can save your tablet’s life.

Fix your Kindle Fire: so you have a Kindle Fire with a cracked screen? I strongly recommend you get in touch with Amazon to see what they can do. You may have to pay a bit to get your Kindle replaced. You could always try fixing your Kindle. It is not going to be easy. But videos such as the one you see above show you how to open up your device. You are going to have to pick up a replacement screen beforehand (it could cost anywhere between $30 to $70).

Repairing your Kindle by yourself is not impossible but it can be tricky if opening up your gadgets is not your favorite activity. If your Kindle Fire has a cracked screen, your best bet is to contact Amazon. Don’t forget to invest in a tough case and screen protector to avoid ending up with a damaged screen in the future.
