Kindle's Wireless Service Crashes Early Friday

If you didn’t notice something wrong with your Kindle on Friday, you may be one of the lucky ones. I personally had major issues with my two Kindles. Both of them heavily crashed once I tried the experimental feature to connect to Wikipedia. Amazon forums also had many people who did not get their daily newspapers and you could tell by the tone that a few people were upset.

Thankfully the network came back on and things are back in order. But I guess you can’t really tell with Kindle. I have heard from a few people that the wireless feature died on them after a few months. So when you can’t connect to Wikipedia, that’s the first thing that you think of.

As more people adopt Kindle, I do expect more crashes like the one that happened on Thursday-Friday to come about. Amazon has created a magnificent product in Kindle, but they have shown they are not good in planning out for their hot product. Amazon is however very good in customer service, so feel free to complain to them if your device is under performing.

So how many of you experienced the big crash on Friday?
