If you are addicted to reading, you have probably enjoyed taking advantage of Scribd. It’s a powerful community to give you access to all kinds of information. Whether you are looking for independent work, slides, or mini e-books, there is a good chance to can find something useful on Scribd. Thanks to the new mobile app released by Scribd, you can now send content to your e-book readers without too much hassle. Plenty of platforms are supported, so whether you own a Nook or an iPhone, you can now send non-copyrighted content to your mobile device with just a few clicks.

The process is pretty simple. You will have to register your device with Scribd if you want the process to be as painless as possible. You can then send content to your handheld device in a few simple steps. In case of Amazon, there is going to be a wireless cost. You will have to pay 15 cents per megabyte. It’s not known whether there will be any fees associated with transferring Scribd content to other platforms (it’s device specific).

This is a very good move by Scribd and great news for e-content fans. Whether you are just getting your feet wet with your e-reader or have owned yours for a few years, there is no question you can get some good value out of Scribd’s content. The social network is also going to bring premium content to your handheld devices in the future, so it’s not stopping with free content. It’d be interesting to see how Amazon and Apple will respond to Scribd’s move. Let’s hope they cooperate.

Your take: if you were an e-reader maker executive, would you adopt Scribd and its apps?
