Amazon has updated Kindle for iOS to bring some of the features customers have been asking for to iPhones and iPads. Kindle for iOS v. 4.4 lets you sync to the most recent page read. That means any books you are reading on Kindle for iOS will now sync to the most recent page read across all Kindle devices. You also get Kindle Placeholders, which allow you to explore your books without losing your current spot. Users can also export notes, highlights, and more to e-mail.

The update also offers Wikipedia lookup and performance and stability improvements. The update is available as a free download from the App Store.
