Apple iPad is not the only tablet on the market, even though it has dominated this market for the past few months. Android tablets can be very attractive to e-book addicts as long as they don’t mind giving up the E-ink experience. Many tablet makers are releasing their new products to the market for the holiday shopping season. If you are into Android and need a tablet, these 6 Android tablet e-readers are worth being excited about:

Samsung Galaxy Tab: it is expected to give Apple iPad a run for its money for the next few months. It has a 7 inch LCD screen and runs Android 2.2.

Nook Color: Nook 2 does not have an e-ink screen anymore. But it does run Android and gives its owners access to B&N content. It is a great tool for social reading and is kid friendly too.

The Cruz Reader: a full color 7 inch Android e-reader. It comes pre-loaded with Borders Android application, giving you access to content from that website. It’s pretty affordable since it’s not a full-tablet.

ViewSonic 7-Inch Multi-touch Tablet: a 7″ Android 2.2 tablet with 802.11 b/g WLAN and 800×480 resolution. It has a 3MP camera in the rear & 0.3MP front camera. Gives you access to Android Market apps.

eLocity A7 Touchscreen 7-Inch Tablet: an Android tablet that runs Android 2.2. It will feature NVIDIA Tegra II T‐20, a 1.3 MP camera, and 3-Axis Accelerometer. Decent for reading or gaming.

ICAN! 10″ Tablet PC: it’s been announced but has not been released to the market. Its 10 inch screen does set it apart from most of the tablets on this list. It will feature Wi-Fi, a 16GBHD HDD, and a webcam.
These tablets/e-readers may not take advantage of E-ink technology but they can open your e-books in full color. Most of them run Google Android apps too. They do give e-book lovers some options.
