Flexible displays are the future. There are multiple companies that are working on these types of displays. Samsung is a step closer to unveiling its flexible AMOLED display after naming it the “Youm.” Samsung seems to have already applied to copyright the name complete with a logo. These displays are going to be thin, light, and tough to break.

Samsung even has a Korean page up for this project. Instead of using glass, the company is using film for these displays. Considering that the project has a name now, it means we are a step closer to seeing devices using flexible displays. Samsung had estimated that we would see these by the end of 2012. That remains to be seen.
