The idea may not be completely new but it makes sense. A recent Apple patent application discovered by Apple Insider suggests that the company is planning to bring autographs to e-books. We all can store thousands of books on our iOS devices these days. Apple’s invention will allow e-book buyers to get their books autographed. Users could choose the insertion point for their autographs. The author’s device needs to have the appropriate credentials and be near the device receiving the signature, which makes sense.
Transfer happens over Bluetooth. Apple software will take care of authentication for customers. The system could work for photos or any other digital media. It is not clear when Apple will release this system. But the idea is interesting to explore.
