It is no secret that Apple will have a new tablet for consumers to get their hands on. The company is already selling a ton of iPads each year. By releasing the iPad mini, Apple is planning to go after Amazon, Google, and B&N. All these companies have released budget Android tablets to target consumers who may not be ready to spend $500 on a tablet. But there is no iOS option available for this group. Apple will be changing that on October 23rd.

Apple’s upcoming iPad mini event will have a strong iBooks focus. Considering that the new iPad will be cheap and for media consumption, this is not a surprise. As multiple sources have reported, the iPad mini will borrow a few features from the iPad 2. It will simply not be a smaller version of the iPad 3. Apple is expected to announce a new major version of iBooks at the event.

In the meantime, various parts of Apple’s upcoming iPad seem to have been leaked to the Internet. Among those is the battery that will be allegedly used. Will the iPad mini offer a better battery life in comparison to its big brother? That remains to be seen.

Are you excited about the iPad mini? Will you be getting one?
