iPad Mini: 7.85 inch iPad Coming in 2012?

The Kindle Fire has generated a lot of buzz in the past couple of months as it is one of the most affordable tablets around and pretty decent in what it offers. We have been hearing rumors that Amazon intends to bring a 8.9 inch tablet to the market in 2012 to put even more pressure on Apple. Rumors are now surfacing that Apple plans to further solidify its position in this market by adding a 7.85 inch iPad to its current line up. The iPad mini  should not be mistaken with the iPad 3. The smaller iPad will be the weapon Apple needs to go after some of its current competitors.

Steve Jobs was not quite for smaller tablets. But Apple under its new CEO may be willing to take a risk to stop the momentum of smaller tablets. Amazon has shown that there is tremendous demand for cheap, capable tablets. Apple may be a premium brand but it still has space to drop its tablet prices a bit. This remains a rumor at this point. It is not the first time we have heard about a smaller iPad being in the works.

What’s your take: should Apple release an iPad Mini?
