E-ink cases for smartphones are not a new idea. Popslate’s E-ink case has already given us an idea what these types of accessories are capable of. The Gajah InkCase is another E-ink protective case for iPhone. It will be available for Android devices too. The iPhone 5 version will have a 3.5-inch, 360 x 600 E Ink display. It offers Bluetooth 4.0 compatibility. The Galaxy Note II model will have a 4.3-inch, 600 x 800 screen, and Bluetooth 2.1.
The iPhone version will cost $99 while the Android version sets you back $129. It remains to be seen whether these types of cases will take off. But having a second screen when using your smartphone sounds like an intriguing idea.[via Engadget]
