CuBox Miniature Computer Review

Most of us own regular PCs and laptops. But you don’t need a huge computer to get things done. Take the CuBox computer. It is a highly compact computer that measures 2 × 2 × 2 inches in size. It weighs only 3.2oz. It is fanless and runs Linux without any issues. The device has:

  • 800 MHz dual issue ARM PJ4 processor
  • 1GByte DDR3 at 800MHz (2 GB RAM)
  • Gigabit Ethernet, SPDIF (optical audio), eSata 3Gbps, 2xUSB 2.0, micro-SD, micro-USB
  • HDMI 1080p Output
  • OpenGL|ES 2.0 graphic engine

As you can see in the above video, this is a very small computer but as long as you have a monitor with a HDMI port, you can get started with the CuBox fast. It is designed for running Android TV applications and other open source software solutions.

The CuBox PC has only 1 GB RAM. I strongly recommend upgrading to the Pro version to get 2 GB RAM and have more flexibility to run more apps on your machine. The CuBox Pro costs $159.99.
