BitLit: Buy Paper Digital Book Bundles

Have you ever bought a paper book and wanted to own a digital version as well? There is already a huge thread on Reddit about this very topic. Many folks seem to think that they should get the e-book version of their paper books for free. BitLit won’t offer you that. But it does let you buy paper/digital book bundles. The goal is to offer publishers the chance to offer their customers a discount on e-books.

Here is how BitLit will work: its app will recognize your paper book and verifies ownership before offering you the chance to get a discount on its digital version. Publishers could very well offer their e-books for free (not going to happen). The BitLit app is expected to be available for Android and iOS devices.

This is an interesting idea but still might not encourage people who think digital versions of the paper books they own should be free. What’s your take?
