Amazon Kindle Fire 2013 Specs [Rumor]

Amazon is going to release new Kindle Fire devices soon. The fact that the company has discounted the Kindle Fire HD suggests just that. Besides, the new Nexus 7 does smoke the old Kindle Fire HD in terms of performance, so Amazon will have to release a more competitive device to the market soon. BGR is reporting that the Kindle Fire 2013 will have:

  • 1.5GHz dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP4 4470 processor
  • PowerVR SGX544 graphics
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 1,280 x 800 display
  • Android 4.2.2

Keep in mind that this is the entry level tablet that Amazon will be releasing in the near future. The device will most likely be offered for $159. Kindle Fire HD 2013 tablets will have an even more powerful processor inside with a much better display and more RAM. Will they be a Nexus 7 killer? That remains to be seen.
