We all expected Amazon to introduce a couple of products today. Jeff Bezos and his team have outdone themselves. Amazon has just introduced 3 new Kindle products to solidify its hold on the e-reader market and make a splash in the tablet business. The new Kindle WiFi won’t have a keyboard anymore. It has a couple of buttons for navigation. The device is much more compact. It offers one month of battery. The keyboard is now digital. The best part? Kindle WiFi will now be up for grabs for $79.

Kindle Touch is even more impressive. Just like NOOK 2nd gen, Kindle Touch lets its users interact with their content using their fingers. Just like on regular Kindles, you can borrow books from libraries using Kindle Touch. It not only has a cool touchscreen interface, it lets you tap on your screen to move your pages. It offers 2 months of battery life which helps. Kindle Touch comes in two flavors. The WiFi version with ads costs $99 ($139 without ads). The 3G version costs $149 with ads ($189 without special offers).

Last but not the least, Amazon finally announced its first tablet today — Kindle Fire. Kindle Fire is a 7 inch tablet that will serve as the company’s first media device. Sure, it can be used to read e-books. But the main purpose seems to be entertainment. Here are the specifications for Kindle Fire:

  • 7″ multi-touch display with IPS
  • 1024 x 600 pixel resolution
  • dual core processor
  • 8 GB internal memory
  • 8 hours of continuous reading battery life
  • Amazon Silk cloud-accelerated browser

Kindle Fire with Silk browser promises to offer a faster and more smooth entertainment experience to users. Silk browser is quite revolutionary and can be a game changer for Amazon:

Kindle Touch will be released on November 21st. Kindle Fire will be available for shipment on November 15th.
