Surface RT for Schools: $199?

Microsoft is desperate to make Windows 8 and Surface tablets more popular. Offering huge discounts on them is one way to do that. Microsoft has started offering Surface RT tablets for as low as $199 to schools. The tablet sells for $499 at retail but will be available to schools at a huge discount until the end of August.  Let’s not forget that the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD are also available for $199.

The Surface RT + Touch Cover combo will be available to schools for $249. That is a steal. There does not seem to be any minimum purchase requirement but supplies surely won’t last forever.
