Microsoft Developing 7 Inch Surface?

By all accounts, the Surface project has not been a success for Microsoft. Surface tablets are not cheap and while they are well-made, they are flawed in many ways. That is not going to keep Microsoft from bringing new models to the market. The Wall Street Journal is now reporting that the company will be making a 7 inch Surface tablet to compete against Nexus 7 and the iPad Mini.

This 7 inch Surface will run Windows 8 but we are not sure about its hardware specifications. A smaller, cheaper Surface tablet could get more attention from consumers. But Microsoft needs to encourage even more app developers to get on board and develop apps for Windows 8.
