Kindle To be Embedded In Cars?

The Kindle has come a long way since its launch. It started as a decent e-book reader but Amazon has introduced many updates and Kindle Fire tablets in the past few years. Of course, you could always rely on the Kindle app to use your content on tablets and smartphones. Considering that Amazon has launched its first connected car app in Amazon Cloud Player recently, it is not out of the realm of possibility that we could get a Kindle solution for cars. At least that’s what Kevin Fitchard of GigaOm is suggesting.

Most of us don’t read books when we drive. But we could surely listen to audiobooks or audio versions of our books during our commutes. Amazon supplying books in multiple formats won’t be a huge issue. The company already has the Whispersync technology as another piece of the puzzle. Kindle’s Read-to-Me feature was not without controversy, so Amazon has its work cutout for it.

Cars of the future are going to be smarter, so it would not surprise me if Amazon pursues such a project. It will take Amazon some time to properly implement this though.
