PocketBook Backlight HD E-Reader Coming?

When we talk about e-readers these days, most people think of companies such as Amazon, Sony, and B&N. There is no question those companies have great e-readers. But there are other players involved in this market as well. The E-ink e-readers of the future are likely to have built-in lights from now on. Amazon is the latest e-reader maker to get on-board with this. PocketBook’s next product is expected to offer the same feature. The company showed an early prototype of a 6 inch e-book reader with built-in LED lights at IFA 2012.

PocketBook’s upcoming e-reader will have 5 LED lights located along one edge of its screen. It could have a resolution of 1024 * 768. There is no word on whether these will ever be sold in the U.S. Other PocketBook’s products are sold in the Europe region but have not made it to the U.S. Those of you in the U.S. can always invest in a Kindle Paperwhite e-reader though.
