The Amazon Echo was announced a while ago. Not everyone can buy it yet, but the Echo can make your home smarter by providing you with weather, music, news, and other information. It offers voice recognition and cloud support. The device is Bluetooth enabled and can offer even more features as Echo updates through the cloud automatically. The good folks at iFixit have gotten their hands on the device and posted a teardown report for it.

As described in the report, the Amazon Echo is just a bit bigger than a couple cans of soup. It features a Texas Instruments DM3725CUS100 Digital Media Processor, 256 MB RAM, and a SanDisk 4 GB iNAND Ultra Flash Memory. The device received a repairability score of 7 out of 10. While you can replace the speakers, there is no repair documentation available for the device yet.
