B&N has not had a whole lot of success selling NOOK HD and NOOK HD+ devices. It has made many changes to generate interest in these tablets though. Considering that you can now put Google Play apps on these devices, we expect more people to start paying attention to these tablets. B&N is offering NOOK HD and NOOK HD+ for $149 and $179, respectively.

Here are the price changes:

  • NOOK HD 8 GB: from $199 to $149
  • NOOK HD 16 GB: from $229 to $179
  • NOOK HD+ 16 GB: from $269 to $179
  • NOOK HD+ 32 GB: from $299 to $209

These prices make NOOK tablets a lot more competitive with the Kindle Fires and Nexus tablets of today. Let’s not forget these prices won’t last forever. They expire on 5/12.
