New Nexus 7 Due in July for $149?

nexus 7

The Nexus 7 is already one of the most popular tablets around. It may not be an iPad killer but is a whole lot cheaper. Unlike the Kindle Fire, you get the full Android experience on a Nexus 7. Google was always expected to announce a new Nexus 7 soon. It turns out that might happen in July.

The new Nexus 7 will be ditching NVIDIA’s Tegra processor for a Qualcomm Snapdragon one. Multiple sources are reporting that the device could go for as low as $149. That will put even more pressure on the iPad Mini and other players in this business.

Google’s goal is to sell up to 8 million units
in the second half of this year. Considering how popular the old Nexus 7 was, a $149 Nexus 7 with new hardware specifications could get a lot of attention from tablet shoppers.
