Kindle Worlds: Monetizing Fan Fictions

Planning to write your own fan fiction? Amazon is going to allow you to monetize your work with the launch of Kindle Worlds. Amazon has secured a license from Warner Bross so authors can write stories based on the Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, and other titles. Amazon is working on acquiring more licenses.

With Kindle Worlds, you can write new stories based on featured Worlds, engage an audience of readers, and earn royalties. Amazon Publishing has secured licenses from Warner Bros. Television Group’s Alloy Entertainment for Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, and The Vampire Diaries, with licenses for more Worlds on the way.

The Kindle Worlds Self-Service Submission Platform will launch soon and enable you to submit your original works for publication.

There are limitations on what you can publish though. Your work can’t include illegal or offensive content. You will also watch out which elements you include in your work. Make sure to check the Kindle Worlds page before getting started.
