Are you getting tired of the current crop of e-readers and tablets available for sale already? Google and Amazon are planning to bring their new products to the market soon. Credible sources have told CNET that Amazon will introduce a new Kindle Fire this summer. It could be launched at the end of July. We have heard rumors about new Kindles coming soon already (through DigiTimes). Amazon will need to step up its game to stay competitive in the tablet business.

At this point, it is not clear what the new tablet will have. It will surely have a better screen and a more powerful processor. But this does not sound to be a revolutionary upgrade. Amazon is expected to announce E-ink Kindles with lighted screen as well.

Speaking of new tablets, Google is bringing its Kindle Fire rival to the market soon. The Nexus 7 is expected to have a 7 inch screen and go for $199 (8 GB version), though Google could always push the envelop by being more aggressive with its pricing strategy. The device is built by ASUS and will have Nvidia Quad Core Tegra 3 processor and GeForce 12-core graphics inside. Android JellyBean 4.1 will be included on it as well. The Nexus 7 could be announced as early as this week.
