It is no secret that some e-reader makers and e-book sellers track the reading habits of their customers. If you own a dedicated e-reader, you should be aware of who is tracking you. You could always find out by going through license agreements and privacy policies for ereaders. But that is not an easy job for everyone. The E-Reader Privacy Chart, 2012 Edition could give you an idea who is tracking what in the world of e-readers.

Unfortunately, the document does not cover all major ebook platforms (e.g. iBooks is missing). But it is nice to have easy access to this information before making your e-reader / e-book purchase.

In the past few years, we have covered all kinds of e-ink devices here. E-ink is a powerful technology and has made using dedicated e-readers such as Kindle, NOOK, and Kobo a lot of fun. The popSLATE iPhone case happens to use this technology to offer a second screen for your iPhone. The case will use the Lightning connector in your iPhone to p0wer up and transfer data. The folks behind popSLATE will be releasing an API as well so developers can come up with apps for the product. One can easily use the second display for reading books and doing other things. The project is being funded on Indiegogo at this point.
