Amazon Renting College Textbooks?

Those of you who have attended a college recently know how expensive book prices can be. The costs could be a back breaker for students. It is always much cheaper to buy college textbooks used or borrow them from someone. Amazon seems to be testing the idea of renting college books to students. As the Digital Reader has reported, Amazon is already renting a paper text book.

Amazon already has a support page for textbook rentals. You will be able to keep your book for a semester and save up to 70% on costs. Amazon will even pay your return shipping when you are done with your book. The site will tell you when your due date is coming up. The textbooks you receive could be new or used. Rentals can be extended by 15 days just in case you have the need for it.

This is a very exciting move by Amazon. Students should not have to spend a fortune just to get books for their courses. Interestingly enough, this option is not offered for all textbooks yet. It will be interesting to see when that happens.
