Amazon To Add Streaming Music to Prime?

amazonprime

Amazon Prime started as a shipping program. It was a way for many of us frequent Amazon shoppers to save money and get free shipping on lots of items. But it now has video content, and soon it will have music for subscribers to take advantage of. According to a report by Re/code, Amazon is in talks with recording company executives to pull this off. Considering that Amazon already has a huge library of music, this move is logical.

Prime customers could get access to Amazon’s entire audio library. This move also bodes well for Amazon’s rumored set-top box. It remains to be seen whether Amazon can pull this off. It has had success with its video service but can it get the discounts it needs to pull this off? Amazon Prime membership costs could jump from $79 to $119. That might help Amazon make this move.
