E-ink at IFA 2012: New concepts, E-ink Screens, Flexible Displays

E-ink screens can be found on some of the most popular e-readers around. Amazon Kindle and B&N NOOK have taken advantage of this technology and are quite popular these days. E-ink is not done innovating when it comes to display technology though. The company is already working on flexible E-ink screens and more advanced displays for e-readers.

Charbax has been able to get a long interview with Sri Peruvemba, the head of marketing at E-ink. The discussion covers E-ink’s color lighted E-ink screen, the new dual-screen smartphones, and other exciting projects the company is working on.

I would love to get my hands on a flexible e-reader in the next couple of years. There are already a few companies that are testing these types of e-readers (Wexler FlexOne comes to mind). It will be interesting to see whether companies such as Amazon will adopt flexible displays for their e-readers anytime soon.
