Most Tablet Buyers Love iPad, Kindle Fire Fading?

The Kindle Fire made its debut with a bang. Amazon was able to reach the #2 position in the tablet market in a very short period of time thanks to Kindle Fire’s low price. But interest in that device may be fading. A new survey suggests that most tablet shoppers are interested in getting their hands on an Apple iPad and not a Kindle Fire.

Apple did manage to excite a lot of tablet fans with the new iPad. It has a superb screen and is a faster device than its predecessor. ChangeWave’s latest survey suggests that Apple’s tablet still remains the most popular tablet around with the Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy Tab being far behind. Among those surveyed, 73% of tablet shoppers planned to buy an iPad (in comparison to 8% and 6% for the Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy Tab).

At this point, it does not seem that the Kindle Fire will rebound. Amazon will have to introduce new tablets to keep shoppers interested. Considering that iPad owners are more likely to be very satisfied with their tablet, Amazon and other tablet makers have their work cutout for them. Apple is rumored to be working on a 7 inch tablet, so it will be interesting to see how the Kindle Fire will fare against that.
