Ebook Gifts? Kobo is Allowing It

E-books make great gifts. They are not too expensive but can be nice gifts for those who own e-reader devices such as Kindle and Nook (or use their companion software). Not too many of e-reader companies actually allow e-books to be gifted. Kobo is changing that for this holiday season. Kobo fans can purchase e-books and have them sent to others on a specific date (with a personalized holiday e-mail). This is a very attractive offer to those who have e-book addicts in their family:

Customers can browse the Kobo store which offers over 2.2 million eBooks, from the latest new releases, New York Time bestsellers, suspense, romance, thrillers, and much more – then select and purchase an eBook and send it to a friend or family member electronically with a personalized Kobo Holiday email and have it delivered on the date they select . An easy and stress- free way to send a thoughtful gift to keep in touch with loved ones during the holidays.

Those of you who don’t want to go with this option can always use eGift cards to get the job done. eGifts can be scheduled ahead of time, saving Kobo customers time and effort.

Kobo gift recipients have an advantage because they can read on any device by downloading a free Kobo eReading app. Kobo is the perfect place to do the holiday shopping. In addition to all of these great gift guide recommendations – Kobo offers a selection of more than 2.2 million eBooks as well as the most popular newspapers and magazines. There is truly something for everyone.

eBooks are very underrated gifts. Being able to send someone an ebook as a gift is nice. It would be even better if companies such as Amazon and B&N came up with e-book subscription plans that could be gifted. We have been advocating for these companies to offer e-book subscription plans (Rhapsody for e-books). Such plans would make even better gifts.
