Windows 8 is finally here. As Microsoft had promised, this version of Windows is more tablet friendly. We are going to see a lot of ultrabooks, tablets, and laptops running this platform. Plenty of them have already been released to the market. Here are 10 Windows 8 / RT tablets you can adopt as your e-reading device today:

Acer Iconia W700-6607 11.6-Inch Tablet: if you want an even larger tablet, this 11.6 inch tablet by Acer is worth checking out. It runs the full Windows 8 and has Intel Core i3-3217U 1.8 GHz processor inside.

Dell XPS Duo XPSD12 Laptop: this is a 12 inch laptop and tablet. It has an Intel Core i5 3317U 1.6 GHz processor with 8 GB RAM.

Acer Iconia W510 Tablet: this product has a 10.1 inch display with a cool keyboard dock. It has an Intel Atom Dual Core Z2760 processor and 64 GB Flash memory.

Microsoft Surface with RT: Microsoft plans to introduce the Surface with Windows 8 in a few month. But Surface with Windows RT is already here. It has a 10.6 inch screen and VaporMag casing. It has an integrated Kickstand as well.

ASUS VivoTab RT TF600T Windows RT Tablet: another 10.1 inch tablet with Windows RT. It has an NVIDIA Tegra 3.0 1.3 GHz processor inside with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB flash memory.

Lenovo Twist S230u Ultrabook: this is perfect for those who need an ultrabook that could act as a tablet as well. The resolution is only 1366 x 768 pixels though.

Dell XPS 10 Tablet: it is a 10 multi-touch tablet and runs Windows RT. It has an optional keyboard dock too. The starting price is $499.99.

Samsung ATIV Smart PC 500T: the device has a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom processor and 2 GB RAM. A 11.6 inch screen is also included.

HP ENVY x2 PC: if your experience with HP products has been great in the past, this product is worth paying attention to. It is a thin tablet with beats Audio, NFC technology, and a 11.6 inch screen.

ThinkPad Tablet 2: this tablet has a 10.1 inch multi-touch HD display with an ATOM processor inside. It has 2 cameras, micro-HDMI, and GPS.

Should you buy Windows 8/RT tablets? As we covered it here in the past, the Kindle app is already available for this platform. You can easily use these tablets as your e-book reader. You can also run regular Windows apps on full Windows 8 products. If Android or iOS are not your favorite platforms, Windows 8 and products that run it may workout for you.
