Toys R Us To Sell Kindle, NOOK comes to OfficeMax

Amazon and B&N are quite competitive with each other in the e-reader business. Both companies can claim to have the best e-reader on the market. They offer plenty of apps to give their customers the chance to read their e-books on tablets and smart-phones. B&N managed to stay competitive with Amazon with its NOOK Color tablet. From all the rumors that we have heard, Amazon’s upcoming tablet will go head to head with NOOK Color.
Both companies are expanding their presence in retail stores nationwide. Toys R Us is the latest retailer to start offering Kindle in stores. The store will give $10 Toys R Us gift card to those who pick up a Kindle between July 31 and Aug. 6. Kindle WiFi, Kindle 3G, and Kindle with Special offers will be offered in Toys R Us. This is a curious decision by Amazon. At the same time, it could introduce Kindle to a whole new market.
B&N’s decision to bring NOOK to OfficeMax is more understandable. Starting July 30th, OfficeMax will offer Nook Touch and Nook Color in its stores. It will be interesting to see which store will be the next to get Kindle or NOOK.
