Many iPad fans were hoping for Apple to release its iPad mini in Spring. But it seems they will have to wait a few months to get their hands on it. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is suggesting that the second generation iPad mini with Retina display won’t enter mass production until October. Apple was expected to refresh all iOS devices this fall. It is possible that the iPad mini gets left out though.
Apple has sold millions of iPad mini devices already. But the larger iPads are more profitable for the company. It would not surprise us if the iPad mini 2 is released a couple of months after the iPad 5 so Apple can maximize its profits. A cheaper iPad mini is also in the works. No word on when that will be released.
