In case you missed it, B&N has started shipping new NOOK units to customers. The new NOOK has the latest E-ink screen technology and responds to users’ touch (unlike Kindle). The early reviews for this device have been quite rosy. Some have suggested this NOOK could be the best standalone e-reader on the market today.

NOOK 2nd generation is up for grabs for $139 plus taxes. Those of you who pre-ordered your device should be getting it ahead of schedule.
