Amazon has had a very successful year when it comes to its Kindle products. The company has reached a few milestones during the year and has sold a ton of these units. Just recently, Amazon announced on its Facebook and Twitter pages that it had its biggest sales day ever for Kindle devices. Unfortunately, Amazon is not the most open company when it comes to disclosing the number of units sold and other relevant information. Considering that Kindle is more affordable and a more established device at this point, this latest claim is not that hard to believe.

Amazon is planning to take full advantage of the holiday shopping season to boost its Kindle sales. The company intends to offer a portion of its remaining Kindle 2 units for $89 each for Black Friday. It is not clear how long this deal will last but from our past experiences with Amazon, it should not go for too long.

While Amazon has dropped its first generation Kindle DX price to $329 recently, we were hoping for a better Kindle DX deal for Black Friday 2010. Amazon has not announced any plans for that. Kindle 2 is still a very impressive e-book reader. But gifting old generation e-readers to others is not exactly the best way to celebrate the holidays. At the very least, Kindle DX gen 1 units are more impressive.
Will you be picking up Kindle 2 for $89 on Black Friday? Do you consider this to be a good deal considering that Kindle 3 WiFi only costs $50 more?

What a bunch of B.S.!!! How many Kindles did Amazon have to sell?? I tried to purchase a Kindle as soon as it went on sale. Guess what, "They were sold out before the sale started!!" What a joke!! Amazon should be ashamed for their false advertising. I thought they were better than that!!!
